Do you even know all the things that are in your wallet or purse right now?  Here are five items to look for and remove to limit your risk of identity theft if your wallet is lost or stolen:
Afforadable Hotels in Carolina Beach

1.  Multiple credit cards.  Carry just one card or possibly a debit card.  Don’t carry specific credit cards (like a department store) or gift cards unless you’re going on a shopping trip.  Thieves often use them without having to show identification.

Good idea: Do a wallet inventory and photocopy all the cards you own so you can report their loss and replace them if necessary.

2. Your social security number.  With this most important key to your identity and your name, thieves can do everything from opening new accounts to filing false tax returns.

Good idea: Memorize your number.  If you have a Medicare card, copy your card and black out the numbers except for the final four.

3. Your passport.  If you’re going overseas you must travel with it, but that doesn’t mean you have to keep carrying it around.

Good idea: Carry a photocopy and leave the original in your hotel lockbox.

4. Checks.  Your checks show your bank routing and account numbers, and thieves often sign them and get away with it.

Good idea: If you must carry checks, take just what you might need for that day.  Also try online banking to pay your bills.

5. Password list.  No one can remember all of them, I know.

Good idea:  Use an encrypted tool to store your password like the SplashID mobile app or LastPass.com for your computer.

For those of us who are familiar with Carolina Beach, and have taken frequent walks there, then the emerald green pyramid is all too familiar. In fact, we actually use it as a marker when we take very long walks down to the Kure Beach Pier and back (something everyone should do, as it is such a beautiful walk).

There are so many North Carolina beach resorts you can choose to have a vacation in. The great thing about having a vacation in any of these beach resorts is the fact that they offer a lot of things. From sugary sand beaches to warm yet salty air, a selection of fresh seafood and charter fishing services – they have it all for you. However, I do recognize the fact that the wide selection can be overwhelming. Most people have a hard time choosing whether they want an all inclusive vacation package or to stay in a luxury hotel. To help you narrow down your choices, here are three of the best hotels in North Carolina that I highly recommend you consider.

The Winds Resort Beach Club

This is probably one of the best beach resorts in North Carolina. There is a view of the glistening ocean in almost all angles of the beach resort. You can choose to either stay in any of their private and convenient guestrooms or their six-bedroom cottage which is ideal for families on vacation together. Every room is decorated with a luxury nautical theme to make sure guests will really feel that island and beach vibe as well as luxury and comfort. Best of all, this hotel is a not high-rise giving guest that intimate and cozy ambience. There are also three different pools you can choose to swim in including a dazzling oceanfront pool with a Tiki bar. The entire beach resort experience is definitely unique; a tropical paradise in North Carolina.

Hilton Garden Inn/Outer Banks Kitty Hawk

Considered as one of the many North Carolina luxury beach resorts, Hilton Garden Inn offers the best of everything for their guests; the best bedrooms, the best amenities, and the best location. Moreover, not only are the bedrooms they offer spacious and equipped with various modern conveniences, but each room has its very own view of the ocean guests can enjoy in their own private balcony. This hotel is strategically located in the Outer Banks to provide guests with nothing but the best in everything location-wise. They also offer free wifi and spas services to their guests.

Ocean Isle Garden

This is probably one of my favorite beach hotels in North Carolina. Every guest is entitled to receive a complementary breakfast at the Inn’s seaside garden, allowing you to enjoy the morning sunshine and the breathtaking view of the ocean early in the morning. It is also the perfect hotel for families due to the expansive kid-friendly amenities and activities they offer. Each room is carefully decorated with handcrafted teakwood furniture, Spanish-inspired tiles on the floor, and various unique artworks that will surely captivate your eyes. With all these said, this is definitely among my favorite beach resorts North Carolina.

Beach Resorts In North Carolina

There is definitely a wide selection of North Carolina resorts on the beach to choose from. However, these are what I believe to provide some of the best amenities and services to guests. Furthermore, these beach results are designed for adults and for kids alike to enjoy a wonderful vacation. If you want to bring your pet with you on your vacation, I believe some of these are pet friendly. But to make sure contact them personally.

Beach Hotels In Carolina | "Our 12 Favorite Hotel Bars For After-Work Drinks"

The Red Owl Tavern is a hip spot located off the lobby at Hotel Monaco. It offers a fantastic wine list (put together by Kimpton Hotels master sommelier Emily Wines), and hand-crafted cocktails. With huge windows overlooking Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, a couple of cool industrial-inspired details, and house-cured charcuterie board specials, the bar attracts a varied crowd of professionals.

The Breslin has an adjacent dining room with a wonderful menu.
April Bloomfield and Ken Friedman, co-owners of New York restaurant The Spotted Pig, teamed up for Ace’s Breslin Bar, a hopping, casual spot that’s popular among young professionals. It can get crowded, so better get there early; if that last presentation is holding you back and the Breslin is already packed by the time you arrive, the hotel’s lobby is also a wonderful place for a drink, and offers food from the Breslin as well.

The W Lounge is popular among young professionals.
The W’s stylish lounge turns into a happening bar by night. The cool, modern space has sleek booths, oversize suede chairs, metal curtains, and trickling water panels. But this being Boston, there’s also a crackling fire that the young, attractive crowd gathers around to sip their pineapple martinis — at least when it’s chilly outside.

The Quill serves specialty cocktails and features house-made mixers and herbal-infused alcohols.
Quill’s soft lighting, cushioned banquet, piano, and Jeffersonian details — parquet flooring inspired by the design in Monticello’s main salon; 18th century maps of wine regions in France, Germany, and Italy visited by Jefferson — combine to create a comfortable spot for sophisticated drinks. Signature cocktails, such as the Purple Haze (strawberry-and-mango-infused vodka, raspberries, creme de violette, pomegranate juice), make it a top pick among locals for unwinding after work.

The Top of the Mark has sweeping city views and great cocktails.
Come for a drink, stay for the view. The Mark Hopkins’ famous bar is, as the name suggests, on the top floor of the hotel. That places it 19 stories up, in a landmark building that sits at the apex of Nob Hill, one of the highest points in San Francisco. All that elevation adds up to one of the best views in a city renowned for its views — so that’s sayin’ something.

Cameo Bar has stylish decor and a see-and-be-seen atmosphere.
Cameo is heavy on the tuxedo couches, whimsical accents, and the color green — all a product of “it”-designer Kelly Wearstler. On busy nights, the action spills out onto the pool deck, where gas heaters keep the ocean breeze from cooling down the party.

Hip Bar Eleven offers a small bites menu and a solid wine selection.
Bar Eleven is known among locals for its great cocktails and expansive wine list. The space is sleek and attractive, with a few tables and couches, and a lit bar with stools. For those who don’t like to drink on an empty stomach, the bar also serves contemporary Southern cuisine.

The dimly-lit Driskill Bar has a saloon-like vibe and lots of seating areas.
The Driskill Bar features a sophisticated saloon-like atmosphere, with wood-paneling and tin ceilings. The vibe here is pretty low-key — a nice departure from the rowdy bars in the area around the hotel — so it’s perfect for those who want to relax rather than party. The bar also serves light fare.

Vertigo Sky Lounge offers stunning skyline views and an indoor/outdoor area.
The Vertigo Sky Lounge is a chic indoor/outdoor bar open year-round atop the Dana Hotel and Spa. It offers a great cocktail menu, DJ sessions, striking city views, and the city’s only outdoor ice bar (open during the winter). It is popular with young locals and can get loud after dinner — but that’s just why people come.

The Charlie Palmer features on of the city's best wine lists.
The Charlie Palmer is largely know for its wonderful food, but it is also a great spot for a drink after work. The bar’s wine list is one of the best in town — featuring everything from a Cabernet Sauvignon from Pepper Bridge, to a Malbec from the Mendoza region in Argentina — and has won several awards.

The Cruise Room was designed to resemble one of the lounges on the Queen Mary.
The Cruise Room is not only Denver’s oldest bar (it opened the day after rohibition was repealed) but also one of the prime spots in town for a casual drink. The Art Deco room has been designed to resemble one of the lounges on Queen Mary, and offers a jukebox and a great selection of cocktails.

Bar at Level 25 has sophisticated beach-y decor and top-notch cocktails.
Other hotels might have the coolest nightlife in Miami, but the Conrad Hotel has our favorite bar for after-work drinks. The Bar at Level 25 boasts sweeping views, creative cocktails, outdoor spaces, and a short — but solid — food menu. Don’t miss the Spiced Pear Daiquiri!
